Perseverance is the name of the game whether on the track or in life we all need to learn the art of walking on regardless of obstacle or outcome. My journey to an Olympic medal wasn't easy and it certainly didn't happen overnight, when I am asked how I did it there is no short answer but looking back the best answer is an unwavering determination which took me over peaks and through troughs, something that I worked on each day alongside the physical endurance needed for a 20km was the mental fortitude to continue to push myself every day to new levels.

Elaine is a GP who has helped many women through a breast cancer diagnosis, but in 2013 she received her own diagnosis.

Elaine’s knowledge made many of her decisions easier, but as a wife and mother sharing the news with her family was the hardest part.

Elaine raised money for BCNA when she ran in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival in 2016 as her way of paying it forward. Elaine raised over $3,000.

Blackmores Sydney Marathon Granted Priority Status By Athletics Australia

Competing athletes at the 2018 Blackmores Sydney Marathon will be in the box seat for selection to the Australian team bound for the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha, with Athletics Australia confirming Priority Status for the event.

Priority Status ensures the victorious athlete sits ahead of all other comparable athletes when team selection decisions are made, giving an athlete an edge over those who choose not to run the Sydney event.
